This artwork by Monir Farmanfarmaian achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Doha in April 2013. In the Contemporary Art / Doha auction, the work Variations On Hexagon sold for USD 112,500.00 (€ 85,434.39) - well above the upper estimate of USD 45,000.00. Admittedly, works by Monir Farmanfarmaian have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Geometry Of Hope in April 2020 with an auction result of GBP 375,000.00 (€ 431,378.37).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Monir Farmanfarmaian erzielte im April 2013 bei Sothebys in Doha einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Art / Doha wurde die Arbeit Variations On Hexagon für USD 112.500,00 (€ 85.434,39) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 45.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Monir Farmanfarmaian auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Geometry Of Hope im April 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 375.000,00 (€ 431.378,37).
