Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Monir Farmanfarmaian achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Doha in October 2014. In the Contemporary Art / Doha auction, the work Three Brothers sold for USD 233,000.00 (€ 185,953.71) - well above the upper estimate of USD 100,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Monir Farmanfarmaian - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Geometry Of Hope, which sold at auction in April 2020 for GBP 375,000.00 (€ 431,378.37).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Monir Farmanfarmaian erzielte im Oktober 2014 bei Sothebys in Doha einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Art / Doha wurde die Arbeit Three Brothers für USD 233.000,00 (€ 185.953,71) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 100.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Monir Farmanfarmaian mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Geometry Of Hope beobachtet, die im April 2020 für GBP 375.000,00 (€ 431.378,37) versteigert wurde.
