Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Mona Hatoum achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in London in January last year. In the Evening & Day Editions auction, the work Untitled (Brain) sold for GBP 2,268.00 (€ 2,718.48) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mona Hatoum achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Silence in November 2011 with an auction result of USD 470,500.00 (€ 349,736.12).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Mona Hatoum erzielte im Januar letzten Jahres bei Phillips in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Evening & Day Editions wurde die Arbeit Untitled (Brain) für GBP 2.268,00 (€ 2.718,48) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mona Hatoum erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Silence im November 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 470.500,00 (€ 349.736,12).
