Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Mona Hatoum could be acquired at Bukowski in Stockholm in October this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Art & Design auction, the work 'Untitled (graters)', 1999 changed hands for SEK 18,000.00 (€ 1,524.41) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of SEK 20,000.00 – 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mona Hatoum achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Silence in November 2011 with an auction result of USD 470,500.00 (€ 349,736.12).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Mona Hatoum konnte im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Bukowski in Stockholm für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Art & Design wechselte die Arbeit 'Untitled (graters)', 1999 für SEK 18.000,00 (€ 1.524,41) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von SEK 20.000,00 – 25.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mona Hatoum erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Silence im November 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 470.500,00 (€ 349.736,12).
