Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Adulación Vespertina by Modest Cuixart was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in April last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 4,410.00 (€ 4,185.25). Admittedly, works by Modest Cuixart have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Brufungles in March 2018 with an auction result of EUR 37,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Adulación Vespertina von Modest Cuixart im April letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 4.410,00 (€ 4.185,25) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Modest Cuixart auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Brufungles im März 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 37.500,00.
