Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2010 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale), which included the work Time of Reading by Mitsuru Watanabe. Here, the upper estimate of HKD 200,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for HKD 225,000.00 (€ 23,374.97). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mitsuru Watanabe - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Naoko Bathing in the Woods of Rousseau, which sold at auction in May 2016 for HKD 687,500.00 (€ 79,462.28).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2010 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) durch, in der auch die Arbeit Time of Reading von Mitsuru Watanabe zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von HKD 200.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für HKD 225.000,00 (€ 23.374,97) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Mitsuru Watanabe mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Naoko Bathing in the Woods of Rousseau beobachtet, die im Mai 2016 für HKD 687.500,00 (€ 79.462,28) versteigert wurde.
