Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Naoko Taking Bath In Rousseau’S Forest by Mitsuru Watanabe was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2019. The price achieved of HKD 250,000.00 (€ 28,612.43) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mitsuru Watanabe - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Naoko Bathing in the Woods of Rousseau, which sold at auction in May 2016 for HKD 687,500.00 (€ 79,462.28).

Die Arbeit Naoko Taking Bath In Rousseau’S Forest von Mitsuru Watanabe kam im Mai 2019 bei Christies in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 250.000,00 (€ 28.612,43) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Mitsuru Watanabe mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Naoko Bathing in the Woods of Rousseau beobachtet, die im Mai 2016 für HKD 687.500,00 (€ 79.462,28) versteigert wurde.
