Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Millard Owen Sheets could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in March last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Modern Discoveries auction, the work Sea Hawk changed hands for USD 1,008.00 (€ 908.68) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Millard Owen Sheets achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Wild Horses of The Camargue in April last year with an auction result of USD 28,050.00 (€ 26,620.48).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Millard Owen Sheets konnte im März letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Modern Discoveries wechselte die Arbeit Sea Hawk für USD 1.008,00 (€ 908,68) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Millard Owen Sheets erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Wild Horses of The Camargue im April letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 28.050,00 (€ 26.620,48).
