This artwork by Mike Disfarmer achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in October 2011. In the The American Landscape, Black and White Photographs from The Collection of Bruce and Nancy Berman auction, the work Heber Springs, Arkansas, c. 1940-1945 sold for USD 16,250.00 (€ 11,651.25) - well above the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Mike Disfarmer; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Two Pals with Cigarettes sold at auction in June 2021 with the realized price of GBP 12,750.00 (€ 14,857.06).
