Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2011 a collector was able to acquire the work Heber Springs, Arkansas, c. 1940-1945 by Mike Disfarmer for USD 3,500.00 (€ 2,509.50). This price was achieved in the auction The American Landscape, Black and White Photographs from The Collection of Bruce and Nancy Berman at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Mike Disfarmer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Two Pals with Cigarettes in June 2021 with an auction result of GBP 12,750.00 (€ 14,857.06).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2011 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Heber Springs, Arkansas, c. 1940-1945 von Mike Disfarmer für USD 3.500,00 (€ 2.509,50) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The American Landscape, Black and White Photographs from The Collection of Bruce and Nancy Berman bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mike Disfarmer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Two Pals with Cigarettes im Juni 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 12.750,00 (€ 14.857,06).
