In the 19th Century European Art and Fine 19th Century European Art auction, the work A Lady seated in an Elegant Interior sold for USD 152,500.00 (€ 154,336.61) - well above the upper estimate of USD 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mihály Munkácsy - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Two Families, which sold at auction in October 2003 for USD 662,700.00 (€ 570,850.20).
