Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2011 a collector was able to acquire the work Portrait Of Sybrandt Oosterling, Head And Shoulders, Wearing A Blue Cloak And White Lace Kerchief; Portrait Of Anna Verbie (Or Virbie), Head And Shoulders, Wearing A Brown Dress by Michiel van Musscher for GBP 6,875.00 (€ 7,890.09). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master and British Paintings Day Sale at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Michiel van Musscher achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An Interior With A Young Girl, Seated At A Table Covered With An Indian Carpet And Reading A Letter, Attended By A Negro Page in January 2007 with an auction result of USD 456,000.00 (€ 350,823.20).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juli 2011 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Portrait Of Sybrandt Oosterling, Head And Shoulders, Wearing A Blue Cloak And White Lace Kerchief; Portrait Of Anna Verbie (Or Virbie), Head And Shoulders, Wearing A Brown Dress von Michiel van Musscher für GBP 6.875,00 (€ 7.890,09) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Old Master and British Paintings Day Sale bei Sothebys in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Michiel van Musscher erzielen.
