Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2010 Sothebys in New York held the auction Important Old Master Paintings and Sculpture, which included the work A Gentleman At His Desk by Michiel van Musscher. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 12,000.00 – 16,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 12,500.00 (€ 9,012.26) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Michiel van Musscher achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An Interior With A Young Girl, Seated At A Table Covered With An Indian Carpet And Reading A Letter, Attended By A Negro Page in January 2007 with an auction result of USD 456,000.00 (€ 350,823.20).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2010 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Important Old Master Paintings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Gentleman At His Desk von Michiel van Musscher zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 12.000,00 – 16.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 12.500,00 (€ 9.012,26) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Michiel van Musscher erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit An Interior With A Young Girl, Seated At A Table Covered With An Indian Carpet And Reading A Letter, Attended By A Negro Page im Januar 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 456.000,00 (€ 350.823,20).
