Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of USD 792,500.00 (€ 734,204.19) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 700,000.00 – 900,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Michele Marieschi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Venice, The Bacino Di San Marco Looking Towards The Palazzo Ducale And The Piazzetta, which sold at auction in July 2014 for GBP 2,210,500.00 (€ 2,788,135.51).
