Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A capriccio with an equestrian statue and classical ruins by Michele Marieschi was sold in the Old Masters Day Sale auction at Christies in London in December 2018. The price achieved of GBP 18,750.00 (€ 20,889.16) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Michele Marieschi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Venice, The Bacino Di San Marco Looking Towards The Palazzo Ducale And The Piazzetta in July 2014 with an auction result of GBP 2,210,500.00 (€ 2,788,135.51).
