Auction result well in line with expectations
The work An Architectural Capriccio With A River And A Gothic Temple by Michele Marieschi was sold in the Old Masters Evening Sale auction at Sothebys in London in July 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 100,000.00 – 150,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 112,500.00 (€ 123,517.52) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Michele Marieschi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Venice, The Bacino Di San Marco Looking Towards The Palazzo Ducale And The Piazzetta in July 2014 with an auction result of GBP 2,210,500.00 (€ 2,788,135.51).
