In the Master Paintings & Sculpture Day Sale auction, the work A Capriccio Of An Imagined Cityscape With Saint Mark'S Basilica And Ruins On The Banks Of A River sold for USD 137,500.00 (€ 127,385.58) - well above the upper estimate of USD 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Michele Marieschi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Venice, The Bacino Di San Marco Looking Towards The Palazzo Ducale And The Piazzetta in July 2014 with an auction result of GBP 2,210,500.00 (€ 2,788,135.51).
