This artwork by Michel François achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in London in March 2019. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work Souffles dans le verre - Noir sold for GBP 52,500.00 (€ 60,935.16) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 30,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Michel François; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Souffles dans le verre sold at auction in October 2008 with the realized price of GBP 49,250.00 (€ 62,776.08).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 75 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Michel François erzielte im März 2019 bei Phillips in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Souffles dans le verre - Noir für GBP 52.500,00 (€ 60.935,16) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 30.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Michel François; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Souffles dans le verre im Oktober 2008 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 49.250,00 (€ 62.776,08).
