Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Mode masculine, Robert William Burke - 1979 by Michel Comte was auctioned at Artcurial in Paris in October last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 459.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Michel Comte achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Carla Bruni, 1993 in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 91,000.00 (€ 58,453.24).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Mode masculine, Robert William Burke - 1979 von Michel Comte im Oktober letzten Jahres bei Artcurial in Paris versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 459,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Michel Comte erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Carla Bruni, 1993 im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 91.000,00 (€ 58.453,24).
