Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Helena Christensen III, Safe Sex Campaign by Michel Comte was auctioned at Phillips in London in May last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 8,820.00 (€ 10,375.89) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Michel Comte have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Carla Bruni, 1993 in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 91,000.00 (€ 58,453.24).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Helena Christensen III, Safe Sex Campaign von Michel Comte kam im Mai letzten Jahres bei Phillips in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 8.820,00 (€ 10.375,89) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Michel Comte auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Carla Bruni, 1993 im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 91.000,00 (€ 58.453,24).
