Artwork auctioned at seven times the upper estimate price
The work Coping Mechanisms by Michaela Yearwood-Dan was worth GBP 239,400.00 (€ 278,898.35) to a buyer in October last year. This price was achieved in the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale at Phillips in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 30,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Michaela Yearwood-Dan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Love me nots, which sold at auction in February this year for GBP 730,800.00 (€ 833,575.21).

Die Arbeit Coping Mechanisms von Michaela Yearwood-Dan war einem Käufer im Oktober letzten Jahres GBP 239.400,00 (€ 278.898,35) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale bei Phillips in London erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 30.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Für andere Arbeiten von Michaela Yearwood-Dan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Love me nots beobachtet, die im Februar diesen Jahres für GBP 730.800,00 (€ 833.575,21) versteigert wurde.
