Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2018 Christies in New York held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Afternoon Session, which included the work Mindful Birth of Manhattan by Michael Williams. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 35,000.00 (€ 29,991.43) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Michael Williams - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Scott Whatever 2, which sold at auction in November 2015 for USD 93,750.00 (€ 88,761.60).
