Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2018 Phillips in London held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work Koyaanissmudgey by Michael Williams. The price achieved of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 28,463.88) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Michael Williams - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Scott Whatever 2, which sold at auction in November 2015 for USD 93,750.00 (€ 88,761.60).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2018 führte Phillips in London die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Koyaanissmudgey von Michael Williams zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 25.000,00 (€ 28.463,88) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Michael Williams mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Scott Whatever 2 beobachtet, die im November 2015 für USD 93.750,00 (€ 88.761,60) versteigert wurde.
