Sold at the upper estimate price
The work The Letter by Michael Parkes was sold in the 20th Century Art auction at Christies in Amsterdam in May 2006. The auction ended at the price of EUR 6,000.00, which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of EUR 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Michael Parkes - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Tea, which sold at auction in November 2005 for EUR 15,600.00.
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit The Letter von Michael Parkes wurde im Mai 2006 in der Auktion 20th Century Art bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von EUR 6.000,00 entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Michael Parkes mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Tea beobachtet, die im November 2005 für EUR 15.600,00 versteigert wurde.
