Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction Contemporary Art Online, which included the work H.2.N.Y. Self-Mutilating Machine by Michael Landy. It changed hands for a price of GBP 5,625.00 (€ 6,543.50) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Michael Landy - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work H.2.N.Y. Tinguely Machine Erases its own Construction in 27 Minutes, which sold at auction in February 2015 for GBP 18,750.00 (€ 25,853.47).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2019 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Contemporary Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit H.2.N.Y. Self-Mutilating Machine von Michael Landy zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 5.625,00 (€ 6.543,50) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Michael Landy mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit H.2.N.Y. Tinguely Machine Erases its own Construction in 27 Minutes beobachtet, die im Februar 2015 für GBP 18.750,00 (€ 25.853,47) versteigert wurde.
