This artwork by Michael Cardew achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in April 2014. In the Made In Britain auction, the work Lidded Jar sold for GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,521.54) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 700.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Michael Cardew - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A 'River' Pattern Plate, which sold at auction in November 2011 for GBP 3,000.00 (€ 3,502.19).

Für andere Arbeiten von Michael Cardew mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A 'River' Pattern Plate beobachtet, die im November 2011 für GBP 3.000,00 (€ 3.502,19) versteigert wurde.
