Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Large Gwari Teapot by Michael Cardew was auctioned at Sothebys in London in April 2014. The price achieved of GBP 875.00 (€ 1,065.08) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 700.00 – 1,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Michael Cardew - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A 'River' Pattern Plate, which sold at auction in November 2011 for GBP 3,000.00 (€ 3,502.19).
