Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Large ‘River Pattern’ Charger by Michael Cardew was auctioned at Sothebys in London in September 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,750.00 (€ 1,985.40) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Michael Cardew have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in November 2011 the work A 'River' Pattern Plate was auctioned for GBP 3,000.00 (€ 3,502.19).
