It achieved a price of GBP 1,890.00 (€ 2,265.40), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 26%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Meret Oppenheim achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La Condition Humaine in November 2016 with an auction result of GBP 197,000.00 (€ 232,440.63).

Die Arbeit Das Schulheft (The Exercise Book) (C. W201a) von Meret Oppenheim wurde im Januar letzten Jahres in der Auktion Evening & Day Editions bei Phillips in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 1.890,00 (€ 2.265,40) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 26%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Meret Oppenheim erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit La Condition Humaine im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 197.000,00 (€ 232.440,63).
