Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Merce Cunningham could be acquired at Christies in New York in October 2018 for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Collection of Melva Bucksbaum: Post-War and Contemporary Art, Photographs and Prints auction, the work Untitled (5/3/97 #4) changed hands for USD 500.00 (€ 441.23) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Merce Cunningham achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sans titre in October 2018 with an auction result of EUR 5,625.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Merce Cunningham konnte im Oktober 2018 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion The Collection of Melva Bucksbaum: Post-War and Contemporary Art, Photographs and Prints wechselte die Arbeit Untitled (5/3/97 #4) für USD 500,00 (€ 441,23) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 800,00 – 1.200,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Merce Cunningham erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sans titre im Oktober 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 5.625,00.
