Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Melvin Sokolsky achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in April last year. In the Photographs auction, the work Sidekick, Paris sold for USD 13,860.00 (€ 13,153.65) - well above the upper estimate of USD 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Melvin Sokolsky have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Paris 1963 in April 2012 with an auction result of USD 92,500.00 (€ 69,922.14).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Melvin Sokolsky erzielte im April letzten Jahres bei Phillips in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Photographs wurde die Arbeit Sidekick, Paris für USD 13.860,00 (€ 13.153,65) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 6.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Melvin Sokolsky auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Paris 1963 im April 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 92.500,00 (€ 69.922,14).
