Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2019 Christies in New York held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Afternoon Session, which included the work Stuttering: Standing: Still Seven by McArthur Binion. Here, the upper estimate of USD 150,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 162,500.00 (€ 147,472.55). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by McArthur Binion - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work DNA Study: III, which sold at auction in May last year for USD 428,400.00 (€ 399,217.22).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2019 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Afternoon Session durch, in der auch die Arbeit Stuttering: Standing: Still Seven von McArthur Binion zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 150.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 162.500,00 (€ 147.472,55) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von McArthur Binion mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit DNA Study: III beobachtet, die im Mai letzten Jahres für USD 428.400,00 (€ 399.217,22) versteigert wurde.
