Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In July 2020 Phillips in New York held the auction 20th Century and Contemporary Art Evening Sale, which included the work Humpty Dumpty by Maxfield Parrish. The »bidding war« ended at USD 740,000.00 (€ 628,503.48), 23% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Maxfield Parrish achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hilltop in November last year with an auction result of USD 6,660,000.00 (€ 6,451,612.90).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juli 2020 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion 20th Century and Contemporary Art Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Humpty Dumpty von Maxfield Parrish zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 740.000,00 (€ 628.503,48) und damit 23% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Maxfield Parrish erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Hilltop im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 6.660.000,00 (€ 6.451.612,90).
