Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Rawhide Part Iii, He Swung Himself Into The Saddle And Rode Away by Maxfield Parrish was sold in the American Art auction at Sothebys in New York in June 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 120,000.00 – 180,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 125,000.00 (€ 111,299.08) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Maxfield Parrish achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hilltop in November last year with an auction result of USD 6,660,000.00 (€ 6,451,612.90).

Die Arbeit The Rawhide Part Iii, He Swung Himself Into The Saddle And Rode Away von Maxfield Parrish wurde im Juni 2020 in der Auktion American Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 120.000,00 – 180.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 125.000,00 (€ 111.299,08) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Maxfield Parrish erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Hilltop im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 6.660.000,00 (€ 6.451.612,90).
