Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of EUR 27,400.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Matthijs Naiveu - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Elegante Gesellschaft in einem Interieur, which sold at auction in November 2016 for EUR 74,400.00.

Die Arbeit Elegantly dressed figures playing cards at a draped table in an interior von Matthijs Naiveu wurde im Mai 2012 in der Auktion Old Masters and 19th Century Art bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 27.400,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Matthijs Naiveu mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Elegante Gesellschaft in einem Interieur beobachtet, die im November 2016 für EUR 74.400,00 versteigert wurde.
