Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Matthijs Naiveu could be acquired at Sothebys in London in December 2015 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale auction, the work Interior With An Elegant Lady Receiving A Suitor changed hands for GBP 37,500.00 (€ 50,923.20) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Other works by Matthijs Naiveu have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in November 2016 by the work Elegante Gesellschaft in einem Interieur at EUR 74,400.00.
