Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of Marie-Anne Cousebant (d. 1725), three-quarter-length by Matthijs Naiveu was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 16,250.00 (€ 19,056.49) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Matthijs Naiveu - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Elegante Gesellschaft in einem Interieur, which sold at auction in November 2016 for EUR 74,400.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait of Marie-Anne Cousebant (d. 1725), three-quarter-length von Matthijs Naiveu kam im Juli 2021 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 16.250,00 (€ 19.056,49) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Matthijs Naiveu mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Elegante Gesellschaft in einem Interieur beobachtet, die im November 2016 für EUR 74.400,00 versteigert wurde.
