Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2018 a collector was able to acquire the work American Gothic by Matthew Weinstein for USD 1,125.00 (€ 992.76). This price was achieved in the auction The Collection of Melva Bucksbaum: Post-War and Contemporary Art, Photographs and Prints at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Matthew Weinstein - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ikebana #10, which sold at auction in March 2008 for USD 6,250.00 (€ 3,954.44).
