Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Not Reason Enough by Matthew Brannon was auctioned at Sothebys in London in September 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 7,000.00 – 9,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,388.94). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Matthew Brannon - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Other People'S Money; People Who Divide People, which sold at auction in February 2012 for GBP 10,000.00 (€ 11,940.26).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Not Reason Enough von Matthew Brannon im September 2017 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 7.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 4.750,00 (€ 5.388,94) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Matthew Brannon mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Other People'S Money; People Who Divide People beobachtet, die im Februar 2012 für GBP 10.000,00 (€ 11.940,26) versteigert wurde.
