Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Matt Mullican could be acquired at Phillips in London in December 2020 for an unexpectedly low price. In the New Now auction, the work Untitled (Subject in the Middle) changed hands for GBP 2,520.00 (€ 2,815.06) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Matt Mullican achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in September 2005 with an auction result of USD 45,600.00 (€ 37,817.22).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Matt Mullican konnte im Dezember 2020 bei Phillips in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion New Now wechselte die Arbeit Untitled (Subject in the Middle) für GBP 2.520,00 (€ 2.815,06) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Matt Mullican erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im September 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 45.600,00 (€ 37.817,22).
