Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Fifth Thirds by Matt Connors was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Phillips in London in June 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 32,500.00 (€ 36,534.82) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Matt Connors - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Second Pitch - Shift, which sold at auction in November 2016 for USD 112,500.00 (€ 106,352.81).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Fifth Thirds von Matt Connors wurde im Juni 2019 in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Phillips in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 32.500,00 (€ 36.534,82) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Matt Connors mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Second Pitch - Shift beobachtet, die im November 2016 für USD 112.500,00 (€ 106.352,81) versteigert wurde.
