Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In February 2007 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art, which included this untitled work by Mary Abbott. Here, the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 13,200.00 (€ 9,977.32). Admittedly, works by Mary Abbott have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Wheel of Fortune III in September last year with an auction result of USD 52,920.00 (€ 54,093.84).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Februar 2007 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Mary Abbott zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 13.200,00 (€ 9.977,32) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mary Abbott auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Wheel of Fortune III im September letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 52.920,00 (€ 54.093,84).
