This work of art by Marvin Dorwart Cone could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in November 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Art auction, the work River Bend #4 changed hands for USD 375,000.00 (€ 340,321.26) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 400,000.00 – 600,000.00. Other works by Marvin Dorwart Cone have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in November 2012 by the work Stone City Landscape at USD 752,500.00 (€ 578,401.23).
