Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2017 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Rising Clouds by Marvin Dorwart Cone. It changed hands for a price of USD 23,750.00 (€ 20,389.77) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Marvin Dorwart Cone achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Stone City Landscape in November 2012 with an auction result of USD 752,500.00 (€ 578,401.23).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2017 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Rising Clouds von Marvin Dorwart Cone zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 23.750,00 (€ 20.389,77) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Marvin Dorwart Cone erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Stone City Landscape im November 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 752.500,00 (€ 578.401,23).
