Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Martin Puryear was sold in the Contemporary Edition auction at Christies in New York in March last year. The price achieved of USD 3,780.00 (€ 3,407.55) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Martin Puryear achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 1,805,000.00 (€ 1,323,313.78).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Martin Puryear wurde im März letzten Jahres in der Auktion Contemporary Edition bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 3.780,00 (€ 3.407,55) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Martin Puryear erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.805.000,00 (€ 1.323.313,78).
