This artwork by Martin Puryear achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in May 2014. In the Post-War and Contemporary Evening Sale auction, the work without title sold for USD 1,805,000.00 (€ 1,323,313.78) - well above the upper estimate of USD 800,000.00. This high result makes the work without title the most expensive artwork by Martin Puryear that we have observed at auctions so far.
