Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Métissage / Camouflage by Martin Puryear was auctioned at Christies in New York in March last year. It changed hands for a price of USD 8,820.00 (€ 7,950.96) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 7,000.00 – 9,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Martin Puryear achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 1,805,000.00 (€ 1,323,313.78).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Métissage / Camouflage von Martin Puryear kam im März letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 8.820,00 (€ 7.950,96) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 7.000,00 – 9.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Martin Puryear erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.805.000,00 (€ 1.323.313,78).
