Auction result misses estimated price range
In April 2013 a collector was able to acquire the work (I) Intercepts: Torino-New York, 1970 (II) The Dirt And The Dust, New York, 1971 (Iii) Not A Chance, Paris, 1971 (Iv) Against The Grain, Fall, 1971 (V) Intercourse Postcard, 1972 by Martin Maloney for GBP 187.50 (€ 221.26). This price was achieved in the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 200.00 – 400.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Martin Maloney achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled Portrait (Jerry) in February 2007 with an auction result of USD 20,400.00 (€ 15,419.50).

Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 200,00 – 400,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Martin Maloney erzielen.
