Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Martin Johnson Heade could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in September 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Art auction, the work Springtime changed hands for USD 25,000.00 (€ 22,925.26) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Martin Johnson Heade achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Great Florida Sunset in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 5,850,000.00 (€ 5,538,723.73).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Martin Johnson Heade konnte im September 2019 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion American Art wechselte die Arbeit Springtime für USD 25.000,00 (€ 22.925,26) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Martin Johnson Heade erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Great Florida Sunset im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.850.000,00 (€ 5.538.723,73).
