Auction result well in line with expectations
In May this year Bonhams in Paris held the auction American Art, which included the work Apple Blossoms in a Nautilus Shell Vase by Martin Johnson Heade. The price achieved of USD 140,200.00 (€ 131,593.77) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 120,000.00 – 180,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Martin Johnson Heade achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Great Florida Sunset in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 5,850,000.00 (€ 5,538,723.73).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Paris die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Apple Blossoms in a Nautilus Shell Vase von Martin Johnson Heade zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 140.200,00 (€ 131.593,77) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 120.000,00 – 180.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Martin Johnson Heade erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Great Florida Sunset im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.850.000,00 (€ 5.538.723,73).
